“Responsib’ALL Drinking” On-campus Responsible Drinking Campaign

The Hong Kong Forum for Responsible Drinking (FReD) launched a new smart phone application called “Cl!nk” on 1 October 2013 promoting responsible drinking among Hong Kong’s university students.

The app was created by Marvel, a team of Marketing & Management students from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology who were named the winners of the “Responsib’ALL CSR Case Competition”. The competition, which was launched in 2012 by Pernod Ricard, one of the founding members of FReD and subsequently transferred to FReD’s oversight, challenged university students to design and implement an outreach campaign aimed at sharing information about responsible drinking among their peers.

“Responsib’ALL Drinking” Campaign

As the winning team, Marvel received a trip to Paris to visit Pernod Ricard’s headquarters and received funding from FReD to roll out their campaign across university campuses in Hong Kong.

The smart phone application developed by the team – “Cl!nk” – was launched as a free public download. The application provides users with four key features: responsible drinking tips, advice on ways to handle alcohol-related problems, information on blood alcohol content and hotline support information. In addition to launching the application, Marvel will also be conducting outreach activities on university campuses throughout Hong Kong sharing information about responsible drinking with university students through fun and interactive platforms.
